The Town is seeking persons to fill vacancies on Town Boards and Commissions.

          Interested residents should complete the questionnaire that is available at the Town of Sprague website [www.ctsprague.org on the volunteer page] and send it by email c.osten@ctsprague.org or regular mail to the Sprague First Selectman at Sprague Town Hall , One Main Street ,PO Box 677, Baltic , Connecticut 06330 .  You may also obtain a questionnaire at the Sprague Town Hall First Selectman’s Office.

This would cover both elected and appointed positions additional information regarding elected positions can be obtained from the respective chairs of both the Republican and Democratic Town Committees’ Chairs.

Volunteer Opportunities

 

In addition to joining a committee or commission as a regular member, you might want to just donate your time for specific projects.  Several Departments and Commissions are always looking for assistance with short and long-term projects.  Please contact one of the departments below to speak with a representative about donating your time.

• The Sprague Public Library (assistance with book sales, shelving, routine maintenance, filing, etc.)
• Recreation Commission: summer activities, cleanups
• Conservation Commission: trail clearing, cleanups, GPS/trail mapping assistance, construction projects, planting, etc.
• Garden Club: town beautification projects, weeding and planting projects and general landscape maintenance at public areas, etc.
• Historical Society: computerized archiving of photos and documents
• Baltic Volunteer Fire Department: always looking for capable new members
• Senior Center: Center assistance, special events help, spending time with members, crafts and skills training, computer skills training, etc.
