The Board of Finance
consists of six members, elected for 6-year terms. The Board of Finance
has regularly scheduled meetings the third Thursday of each month at 7
PM in the Town Hall board room.
RESPONSIBILITY
The governance of the
Town of Sprague follows directly from the General Statutes of the State
of Connecticut. The statutes give the Board
of Finance specific responsibility for:

Preparing the Town budget.
·
Setting the property tax mill rate.
·
Approving special appropriations and transfers between
appropriations.
·
Determining the method and extent of financial record
keeping.
·
Arranging for the annual audit of the Town accounts.
·
Publishing the annual Town report.
MISSION
The Board of Finance is responsible for the management and measurement
of performance and controls that impact the efficient and effective use
of tax dollars and other revenues contributed by Town residents and
other sources.
